This new exterior canopy system for Midlands Technical College's Beltline Campus utilizes a single column cantilever system to unify the campus and protect students and faculty from the elements. The design features customized aluminum components and a brick veneer on the majority of the perimeter columns. The canopy also incorporates an indirect lighting system to augment the new campus safety and lighting plan.

Ridge View High School Addition and Renovation

Ridge View High School, built in 1994, has been expanded over time with as many as 20 portables to house increases in student population. The 24,000 sf addition will address these needs with a new state-of-the-art Health Sciences Magnet & Career Training Suite with classrooms, labs, and lab prep areas to synergize the school’s three Magnet programs: Bio-Medical, Allied Health, and Health Occupations. Spaces for Student Services, Athletics and a large Multi-purpose room are also included.

SCVRD Lyman Center Construction

As the first new Center to be built for the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department in over twenty years, the Lyman Center provides a unique opportunity to design a facility reflecting the current mission and philosophy of the Department. The new 35,000sf structure, to be constructed in two phases, houses three major program components: an area office, a 10,000sf production/training floor, and a special services unit for occupational and physical therapy.

Pets and people might benefit from new digs

An expansion at the city animal shelter, being dedicated today, should make it easier for frantic pet owners to reunite with lost dogs and cats. Instead of going to different facilities, all lost or stray animals picked up in Richland County now will be taken to the city shelter, off Shop Road and I-77. Animal lovers hope the expansion will provide a stage for finding good homes for more unwanted animals, too. The long-sought collaboration between the city and county will bring an improvement in service, leaders say.
