The second major construction project at this church in the past 20 years features an extensive renovation and addition to the stone education building that dates back to the mid fifties. Extensive water damage and outdated building systems were taking its toll on the structure; however, the stone building is much admired by many members of the congregation. A wood frame structure was demolished on the rear of the building to make room for the two story addition with full basement. Parking was expanded to accommodate the growing community, and dedicated play areas were created within new, landscaped walls. All interior walls and building systems were removed, and new partitions and systems installed.
The new plan allows for an office suite with dedicated entrance facing the enlarged parking area. The building is organized around a three-story atrium that provides natural light to the basement spaces below. The existing building received a restoration of the stone and mortar, new roofing system, windows and doors, and completely new interior partitions and finishes that are upscale yet durable.
